Rogue Wave Glassworks Hot Shop is available for rent to qualified artists. Potential renters must be able to demonstrate a basic understanding of glassblowing equipment and tools, and corresponding safety procedures.
Rental Policies
Blow slots begin and finish according to the time scheduled during booking.
The studio can be rented in 4, 6, or 8 hour slots between the hours of 8:00 am and 8:00 pm
Cancellations must be made at least 48 hours prior to scheduled bookings. Failure to provide adequate notice will result in a penalty.
Studio protocol must be followed by all renters or rental privilges will be revoked.
Renters are responsible for their own hand tools and pipes/punties.
Renters are responsible for cleaning up of their bench area during their scheduled booking. Failure to do so will result in a $25 fee.
A damage fee will be charged to renters for full replacement or repair cost of damaged equipment.
In the case of equipment failure Rogue Wave Glassworks will credit time for rental slot. Rogue Wave Glassworks is not responsible for material or labour costs, or for power outages.
Please do not change any settings on the equipment with out help for studio personel. If a piece is lost in the glory hole or furnace, immediately notify the studio personel.
Only authorized persons are allowed in the studio area.
All renters must sign a Waiver of Liability and be over the age of 18 or have written approval from a Parent or Guardian.
Studio Equipment
Our studio is equiped with 2 glory holes one 14” ID and one 16” ID.
We melt Spruce Pine Batch in a 300 LB electric Stadelman furnace.
There are four annealers available in the following configurations:
Front loader 24 inches by 24 inches by 36 inches- Front Loader 22 inches by 22 inches by 20 inches
- Front Loader 22 inches by 18 inches by 18 inches
- Top Loader 18 inches by 28 inches by 18 inches
Each of our 2 stations are equiped with a bench, pick up kiln and a pipe hanging stand.
Rental Price
One station rents for $30 per hour (4 hour min).Rental of both stations together is $50 per hour (4 hour min).
Each 4 hour blow slot includes 25 lbs. of glass. Extra glass incurrs a charge of $1 per pound.
