A 'rouge wave' or extreme wave is rare, appearing out of nowhere. It is mysterious, a thing of legend. Twice as high as an average wave, this huge breaking wall of water is also powerful with a force that has been known to sink ships. Rogue waves are not just rare, according to traditional views of the sea, they shouldn't exist at all.

Rogue Wave Glassworks does exist, and the company is as unique as its name suggests. Melting glass with fire and transforming it into stunning jewelry and other one-of-a-kind creations is its specialty. Pendants, earrings and bracelets are exquisitely sculpted from shatter-resistant borosilicate glass. Also known as Pyrex, it is the perfect medium for detail and delicacy, as well as durability.

Operated by Craig and Carla Hellemond, Rogue Wave Glassworks is located in the community of Chemainus on Vancouver Island, B.C. Canada. Nestled on a ten acre wooded wonderland and surrounded by mountains, the studio setting provides the ideal backdrop to inspire creativity
